Chinese and Western herbal medicine helps to support acupuncture treatment and is quite often a part of the treatment plan following the TCVM (Traditional Chinese Veterinary Medicine) diagnosis. In some highly sensitive patients or for some chronic internal medicine conditions herbs can be used in place of acupuncture. Herbal medicine can also be used early on in a disease (or to prevent disease) when there are no symptoms but an imbalance is detected upon routine screening. We use high quality herbs from reputable suppliers that are tested to ensure freedom from any heavy metals or other contaminants. Dr. Erika is trained in veterinary herbal medicine which takes into account that some herbs can be toxic for animals, even though they are relatively safe for humans.
